This book and the rest of it's series are a prequel to his amazing series of books called Cherub. But In
Henderson's Boys is based on a unit of British intelligence in World War 2. This unit is run by Charles Henderson. A professional spy who after the events of this book and the 2nd of the series set up a training camp. The only thing about this unit is that all the spy's are teenagers!
But In this book you follow 2 groups of people
Group 1 is
Paul and Rosie Clarke, 2 kids who are alone among millions of refugees fleeing the German advance. Their Dad having died in a bomb attack and in possession of a very important document. along and scared they find shelter with a priest but the German secret police won't give up that easily....
The second group is British agent Henderson and french orphan Mark Kilgour. Drawn together by chance they meet when Marc breaks into Henderson's house and is ruthlessly tortured by German gestapo who Rip out his tooth in their task to find Henderson. hours later Henderson arrives and helps Marc. But now they are in a race against time they must reach the Clarkes before the Boche, but they must also deal with the french scientist who created the documents.
All of this equals a firefights in a hotel, a motorbike race through the streets, sunk ferries people getting shot and a gripping first of the series that can only become better.

BOOK REVIEW: A Killing Frost(John Marsden) Tomorrow series book 3
Book: A Killing Frost

Recommended Age: 11/12+
This is the best of the series so far. The book keeps you interested and twists and turns till you have no idea what's gonna happen next.
The Invader's are fully settled in Ellies land and it's becoming harder and harder to survive. Colonists have moved in to their land, their homes. It looks like Australia has been defeated.
But elsewhere People are still fighting. New Zealand forces are fighting and retaking land ,But there's nothing near Wirrawee.
The Gang realises they have to do more.They need to do more than just ambushes and small attacks near Wirrawee. They need to do something in the heart of the Invader's plans,plans that are taking over there land like a plague ...
They need to attack Cobblers Bay.
This is where the ships are droping supplies to aid the enemies war effort;. this is why the attack on Wirrawee hit so hard and quick. The colonists think they've got it all under control. But not for much longer.
It's time to strike back.
And what will happend to them when the do suceed but face a new terror: Imprisonment and Death.

This book as with the rest of the series so far has really impressed me. They style it's written, how it keeps you grippped regardless of what's happening, and the number of surprises interwoven in the story, with amazing plans to lucky coincidences this book and series will make any reader feel nivovled with the story and imagine just what happend.

BOOK REVIEW: Born To play-Jamie Johnson(Dan Freedman)

This book is clearly aimed at younger children who like football. The story follows Jamie Johnson a new kid at his school with a natural talent for football. Unfortuneatly for him that means certain people have it in for him, such as Bryn and Tyler two bestfriends one of which play the same position as Jamie. But soon that will change as they relise that He isn't just good at football, he's a genius at football. suddenly he's one of the main players in their team at lunch and in the schools and he shows real sportsmanship when in one of the games the schools playing he gives up a clear goal and win to allow help to a injured opponent. Who Happens to be the son of the managor of Jamies favourite club, Hawkstone united. Jamie finds himself given a postion as a mascot for their upcoming cup game and as the warm up gets underway leon tibbs the angry keeper taunts him about being unable to score. Now his time had come. he fires a load of shots that leon only just saves and the whole crowd turns to watch. Then as leon insults him once more he turns around and does a overhead kck straight into the goal.
Although this book is clearly aimed at younger children and is quite short due to it being a 2-in-1 book special. I will admit that I actually found it an enjoyable short read. Purely because I don't normally read books like that and it made a nice change.
